Practical seminar for new umpires during “Yonex Latvia International 2022”
During the badminton tournament “Yonex Latvia International 2022”, a practical seminar for new and already known international level umpires, will be held in Jelgava, Latvia, from August 31 to September 4. The seminar will be led by Gunārs Lūsveris, a BWF certified umpire.
Latvian tournaments will provide special conditions for Ukrainian players
In cooperation with the Badminton Federation of Ukraine, Yonex Latvia tournaments have specified the conditions for the participation of Ukrainian players. They will have the opportunity to participate in all Yonex Latvian tournaments free of charge in the same status as Latvian volunteers.
Latvia organised the first national AirBadminton tournament
On July 3, in Saulkrasti, a city in the dunes of the Baltic Sea, the first AirBadminton doubles tournament in Latvia took place – the Latvian Cup. 10 pairs from all over Latvia participated in the historic tournament. The Latvian Cup was held in accordance with the rules of AirBadminton approved by the Badminton World Federation.
The Latvian men’s and women’s team championships took place in Badminton 100 relay format
New Latvian champions of the men’s and women’s teams have been crowned using the relay 100 format. The team of “Riga Badminton School” was the strongest women’s team, and the team “Ananta.lv” of Baloži Badminton Club was the strongest men’s team.
Yonex Latvia International has been postponed to the end of August
“Yonex Latvia International 2021” has been postponed to August 26-29. Similarly, the Latvian tournament in 2020 was postponed due to Covid-19 from the beginning of June to the end of August. For two years in a row, the Latvian tournament cannot take place on time duče to Covid-19.
